Hey guys! Are you struggling with a growing pile of paper clutter? As moms and business owners our paper clutter can reach an unimaginable height! Thankfully there is an easy solution to cut the clutter with your home business paperwork, statements, and receipts! Are you ready to find out how?!
About a year ago, I was listening to a training from Mom Mastery University that was giving several strategies on how to tackle different types of paper clutter. Part of the process is understanding why we are keeping the papers.
For me, I was keeping every single receipt, statement, and payment stub for every single bill that was for my home business or personal expenses. I was afraid to throw anything away because what if I needed it at tax time or if I was ever audited. Using the tips from that training, I came up with a simple system that allowed me to cut pretty much 99% of the paper I was keeping for tax or business purposes!
So with this being tax season, how many of you are digging through all of your papers trying to get your home business taxes figured out? That can be a major nightmare!!!
I want to share one tip that I do to help cut the paper clutter so I don't have to deal with that at tax time or even with my day to day bookkeeping.
For those of you who don't know me, I'm Jill Gockel and I'm a certified mom mentor. What that means is I help moms who are busy building a home business or career get the skills they need to be present with their kids. I do this so that they can balance being a working mom or business-focused mom with being present and having fun.
If you're a busy mom like me, we have enough paper clutter! We don't need our home business adding to that. It's time to quit keeping every receipt, invoice, and statement laying around your house and find a way to cut through the clutter!
This tip is so simple you'll wonder why you never thought of it!
To cut the paper clutter with my home business, I simply started using my phone to snap pictures of my receipts and paper documents.
So as soon as you get a receipt, just snap a picture of it and you can toss the paper copy. If you get a statement (make sure you block out the majority of that account number), snap a picture and throw those paper documents away.
If you are using my 5-Minute Method to bookkeeping, then you will typically never need those receipts or statements again unless your accountant or an auditor needs proof of your purchase.
In addition to helping with paper clutter, this tip has also really helped me cut down on wasting time when I'm doing my bookkeeping and my tax prep! If you want to learn how to use this strategy to get your bookkeeping or tax prep done in just 5 minutes a day, then make sure to click here get notified when my FREE 5 Minute Method Master Class is open for registration and make bookkeeping a breeze.
I encourage you to really look into that method because there are additional tips I use to make sure that I'm getting my bookkeeping and recordkeeping done as quickly as possible without taking any extra time whatsoever.
With 4 kids, including twin toddlers who are incredibly active, I have to use my time wisely and not miss a second of it! I know you'll find The 5-Minute Method Master Class incredibly helpful!

Now as I mentioned, I am a busy mom. I spent years as a mom frustrated and overwhelmed. I loved being a mom but honestly I didn't enjoy it. Add in the stress of working at a job and home business and I was constantly on a short fuse.
Can any of you relate?
Thankfully there was a day that I stumbled across an amazing webinar called "Get Out of Survival Mode". This webinar talked about the principles taught in Mom Mastery University. At first I didn't want to look into this program because things "were getting better".
So I took the plunge and invested in myself as a mom to get the skills I needed to be happy and calm in any situation! Now people constantly comment on how patient and calm I am even in the chaos they saw when I had four kids ages 5 and under, and later with twin toddlers.
If you'd like to learn the skills to balance being present as a mom with all the duties of being a momprenuer (keeping a clean home, cooking, building a business, networking, working at a job, etc.) then please take a look at Mom Mastery University!
